Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Operations team to ensure the quality systems are implemented across the site, through trend analysis and day to day observation.
- Day to day management of the laboratory analytical team and drive improvement.
- Ensure all Audit standards are met on site as outlined in the BRC 9 requirements.
- Site audit status to be maintained.
- Book and lead in all audits, effectively (customer, accreditation, and authority visits), all non-conformances to be closed out in a timely manner.
- Implementing and maintaining a sampling and testing plan for raw material, intermediate and finished product and environmental monitoring.
- Carry out verification analysis of production monitoring.
- Managing distressed stock inventory including out of date raw materials.
- Manage water testing and contract for business.
- Ensure Compliance Technologist workload is managed to meet business requirements.
- Review and feedback customer complaints information and factory non conformances in daily management meetings
- Review micro test results and ensure corrective actions are taken when required.
- Maintain site HACCP, ensure relevant meetings are caried out and documents are up to date.
- To provide an effective Risk Management process and ensure there is a robust Incident Management System in the business.
- Ensure all quality, safety and legal related issues are reported to Head of Technical Review and renew water treatment contract, pest service contract, laboratory services contracts, external cleaning company and laundry contracts (All UK sites).
- To ensure all aspects of the hygiene service are carried out and maintained to the required standard (All UK sites).
- To conduct compliance audits / inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation. (All UK sites).
- Develop and audit hygiene schedules and work instructions to ensure all regulatory inspections and certification audits are passed (All UK sites).
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or QA role.
- Knowledge of current legislation, quality systems and retailer and certification standards.
- Able to demonstrate initiative, decision making, self-motivation and a flexible approach.
- Able to work on their own and as part of a team at site and at group level.
- Able to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation, actively demonstrating commitment to Bowman Ingredients Coaching Culture.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to build effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
- Knowledge of HACCP and the practical operation of HACCP systems.
- Current, valid driving license.
- Must be able to reliably commute to place of work and /or other sites if required to do so within the role
- Good level of English both written and spoken
- Educated to GCSE Level or recognised equivalent
