Mercer’s Career business partners with organisations to design and implement sophisticated workforce strategies, supporting both multinational corporations and local enterprises seeking growth. We deliver best-in-class consulting, rigorous analytics, and data-driven insights that empower organisations to make informed, fact-based decisions.
Within the UK Career team, Mercer’s Reward & Talent (R&T) practice provides clients with strategic consulting, productised solutions, and a comprehensive suite of products—including surveys, software, and tools—that enable HR professionals to deliver exceptional service to their organisations.
To support our growth ambitions, we are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist to manage and expand existing client relationships, as well as to develop new business opportunities through the sale of our products and productised solutions. Our offerings span global markets and industries, providing clients with robust, relevant data to effectively manage their workforce.
As a core member of the team, you’ll promote Mercer’s suite of career products, including remuneration data on salaries and benefits, global mobility solutions, and data-driven publications. We will count on you to:
- Focus on converting new and warm leads, while cross-selling additional services within our Career Consulting practice.
- Engage proactively with Mercer’s extensive UK client base—over 10,000 organisations—many of whom are not yet utilising R&T products.
- Develop new business directly with clients or through collaboration with Mercer client and sales managers.
- Spend the majority of your time engaging with clients and attending Mercer and external industry events to network, generate leads, and build long-term client relationships.
- Leverage and cultivate strong cross-line-of-business relationships within Mercer to maximise sales opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to prospective clients.
- Negotiate sales agreements, balancing client needs with business objectives.
- Conduct thorough market and client research to identify and pursue sales expansion opportunities.
- Maintain and grow account relationships to position Mercer as a preferred vendor.
- Participate in ongoing sales training and professional development activities.
What you need to have:
- Proven track record of success in sales, with strong client relationship management and networking skills.
- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of Career R&T products and the UK compensation and benefits market.
- Experience managing senior client relationships, ideally with large organisations.
- Sales experience within professional services, financial services, or consulting is highly desirable.
- While prior knowledge of career products is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided.
What makes you stand out?
- Experience selling to C-suite executives or HR Directors.
- Background in selling HR consulting services or products.
- In-house HR or Reward experience.
