The Driver Trainer is responsible for delivering continuous safety and operational improvements through a range of training programs with our driver teams, creating and demonstrating a best‑in‑class safety culture in line with Air Products’ core safety values.
Responsibilities
- Deliver continuous safety and operational improvements through training programs with driver teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise and conduct training and assessment for new employees and existing drivers.
- Lead regulatory training (ADR & DCPC), mandatory Air Products training, and product refresher courses.
- Conduct 1:1 competence assessments and give guidance and advice as required.
- Develop and deliver classroom and on‑road practical training, including new driver induction.
- Coach and build training plans; identify high‑risk drivers and collaborate cross‑functionally to address safety concerns.
- Assist distribution teams to improve safety and efficiency in line with business objectives.
- Travel across UK sites as required to perform training.
Qualifications
- LGV 1 license (HGV Class1/C+E unrestricted) preferred.
- Minimum three years consecutive driving experience, including proven tanker driving.
- Proven track record of working within a safety‑first environment.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and strong time‑management.
- Experience in classroom training preferred.
- Exceptional knowledge of cryogenic liquid and gas product delivery and tanker operations.
- IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); administrative skills with spreadsheets and IT systems.
- Ability to travel and work remotely as required.
