Wolfspeed is seeking an IT Commodity Manager (CM) to join its Business Support Services team in Indirect Procurement. The role focuses on supporting indirect procurement activities for multiple departments with an emphasis on software and hardware purchases, IT services, contract negotiations and renewals, and related activities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze spend data, identify key suppliers and trends, and discuss current and future needs with internal stakeholders.
- Refine sourcing strategies to address pain points and optimize the supply base.
- Identify strategic suppliers, cultivate relationships, and position Wolfspeed as a preferred customer.
- Drive alignment to procurement policies and processes, including implementing supplier scorecards and regular business reviews.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership through avoidance or direct reductions.
- Implement/maintain contract lifecycle management, facilitate timely contract reviews, and manage renewals with key departmental stakeholders.
- Own and manage the RFI, RFQ, RFP (RFX) process from start to finish.
- Lead the contract review process, providing detailed insights and steering each contract through review steps.
- Negotiate contracts to favor and protect Wolfspeed within market conditions.
- Act as an individual contributor and interface regularly with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Organize information and projects, prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and solicit and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Build relationships at all levels, present to senior leadership with poise and precision, tailoring delivery and message to each audience.
Qualifications
- BS or BA in an analytical field of study, or equivalent work experience demonstrating analytical and negotiation skills.
- Resilience and comfort dealing with change.
- A desire to help others succeed or a natural inclination to encourage others.
- Experience working effectively on a team with competing priorities.
- Personal commitment to fair and ethical business practices.
- Strong communication skills including responsiveness, professionalism, accountability, clarity, relationship building, persuasion, and patience.
- Successfully managing RFXs.
- Experience in contract review and contract language.
- Ability to advocate for and negotiate on behalf of Wolfspeed.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Network (formerly Ariba).
- Familiarity with Icertis or another contract lifecycle management software platform.
- Demonstrated success (5+ years) in negotiating IT software contracts, as either the customer or service provider.
Hours & Additional Information
The hours for this position will be flexible with NI business hours and US East Coast business hours. This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
