We are seeking a talented individual to join our Client Services Support team at Guy Carpenter.

This role will be based in Witham and is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.

As a Pro Rata Technician, you will support our client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries through timely and accurate system entry.

Although reinsurance experience would be advantageous, we consider candidates with proven insurance premium/claims or underwriting backgrounds who can demonstrate a desire to embark on a career in reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to client accounts.
  • Work with Market Fiduciary to assist with collection of funds.
  • Manage all Pro Rata post, brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, ad hoc reporting requests, and all transactional process steps, including renewals.
  • Promote, build and maintain relationships with brokers, clients and markets.
  • Participate in training sessions and provide input within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to assist with troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Insurance/reinsurance premium/claims experience, e. g., handling cash loss/large loss, and a desire to move into the reinsurance sector.
  • Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of technical account structure.
  • Successful management of workload, with the ability to manage expectations.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Reinsurance claims experience.
  • Experience within Pro Rata.
  • Experience working in a technical capacity for a broker.
  • Experience using London Market systems such as LORS and the IMR (Insurance Market Repository).
  • Knowledge of the CLASS system as useful for review of London market queries.
  • Knowledge of Letters of Credit and the Citibank process.
