Description
We are looking for an Operations Assistant to join our Victor Team. This role can be based in our Bristol, Cambridge, London, Witham or Leeds offices. It is a hybrid position that requires working at least three days a week on site.
Role
As an Operations Assistant, you will work closely with business leaders, underwriting owners, and the wider business to perform a range of operational activities that support Victor UK’s market‑leading service offering.
You will support project teams, analyse data related to products and customers, manage overdue payments by contacting brokers, and provide frontline support with system access and account questions.
Additional tasks include preparing reports, testing system updates, handling claims data, and assisting the operations team with daily queries and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support the agreed product review programme and deliver subsequent enhancements.
- Provide solutions to improve efficiencies for issues identified within product, process or underwriting performance.
- Ensure business objectives, quality standards and regulatory standards are maintained.
- Work with the business to identify, manage and resolve product or process defects in line with operational effectiveness goals.
- Extract, analyse and present data relating to product, system, user and customer behaviours.
- Manage aged debt; contact broking agents via phone and email to secure prompt premium payments and reconciliation.
- Provide broker support for system, risk, and portal‑access issues linked to aged debt.
- Offer agency support: broker set‑up, watch‑list management, credit checks and general account administration.
- Assist colleagues across the business with day‑to‑day queries.
- Create regular risk bordereaux reports; quality‑control the data and submit to insurers on time.
- Test system changes, bordereau updates and document revisions.
- Enter claims data into the Acturis risk management system.
- Support the Operations Specialists and Operations Lead as required.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of the insurance industry and the insurance placement process.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long‑term relationships.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapting flexibility to changing circumstances.
- Strong organisational skills and effective prioritisation of workloads.
Preferred
- Understanding of underwriting and broking processes.
- Experience in process improvement and enhancement.
- Financial analysis, aged debt and credit control experience.
- Recognition of personal development needs and commitment to continuous learning.
