The Night Shift Operations Manager will be responsible for leading all warehouse activities during night operations, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely processing of goods within a high‑volume consumer & convenience environment. The role will drive a performance‑led culture that promotes continuous improvement and leads people in a way that strengthens engagement, accountability, and operational excellence across the night shift.

What You’ll Do

  • Shift leadership & operational management: Maintain full operational control during night hours, acting as the senior decision‑maker onsite when required.
  • Performance mindset & operational excellence: Drive a culture focused on quality, accuracy, cost control, and performance and efficiency— not just volume.
  • People leadership & culture development: Lead, coach and develop diverse teams to create a positive, collaborative night‑shift culture.
  • Continuous improvement (CI): Champion CI through small and large‑scale initiatives that remove waste and improve process flow.
  • Safety, compliance & stock integrity: Maintain a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring site procedures are followed.
  • Communication & handover: Provide clear, structured handovers to the day‑shift management team highlighting risk, achievements and priorities.
  • Operational finance skills: Control labour spend, improve productivity, reduce waste, protect stock and assets.

What We Need From You

  • Previous and practical experience as a Warehouse Operations Manager within a busy logistics environment (minimum 3 years).
  • Proven leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment (consumer & convenience sector).
  • Experience in managing, training and building teams with diverse learning and development needs.
  • Computer literate with practical knowledge of logistics software programmes and packages.
  • Analytical, with excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in operational finance budgets, cost to serve, operational profitability and KPIs.
  • Proven experience in change management around culture change and continuous improvement.
  • Happy to work core hours (22:00–06:00) and occasionally outside core hours.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ready to work in a project‑based environment that is going through change.
