LGV C+E (HGV Class 1) Relief Cover Driver – based in the West Midlands. This permanent, full‑time role covers holiday and sickness cover across four sites: Bilston, West Bromwich, Perry Barr and Solihull. The position is Monday‑to‑Friday with occasional nights out and offers high pay with progression potential to a Driver Trainer.
Responsibilities
- Work on a variety of contracts, including Crown Lift Trucks (Perry Barr), Hub Le Bas (Bilston), Le Grand (West Bromwich) and Porcelanosa (Solihull), delivering and collecting goods such as steel stock, aluminium cable trunking, ceramic tiles and multi‑drop routes.
- Drive safely and efficiently, meeting Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Comply with health and safety standards, the Highway Code, road‑safety rules and vehicle regulations.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks and maintain accurate logs.
- Perform manual handling of customer products.
- Operate various categories of LGV vehicles, including truck and trailer.
- Adapt to nights out and multi‑drop routes as required.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence, Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Minimum 12 months of recent driving experience.
- Flexibility to work nights out as required.
- Ability to cover all four locations: Bilston, West Bromwich, Perry Barr and Solihull, with mileage paid.
- Ideally possess fork‑lift operating experience for delivery and collection duties.
- Desire to progress to an in‑house Driver Trainer role.
