We are looking for a Transport First Line Manager to join our fast-paced operation, where you will play a key role in managing daily transport activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting a high-performing team. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence.
  • Ensure drivers are legal and compliant on a daily and weekly basis and ensure clear communication between all functions within the transport department and the warehouse team.
  • To lead the work activities of the drivers and the transport clerical team, providing effective leadership, communication, motivation, training and development.
  • Carrying out HR Management tasks such as staff reviews, appraisals, absence management and disciplinaries.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Proven people management experience within a transport environment, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
  • Previous experience working within a transport office or wider supply chain operation.
  • Strong understanding of working within a unionised environment and building positive working relationships.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications; experience using Tachomaster is desirable.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to embrace change and support the implementation of new processes and ways of working.
