About The Role

The Contract Administrator at GB Railfreight is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of contracts.

Working with our Account Managers and the Head of Department you will ensure that prices and any financial variables are kept up to date, provide regular financial updates, assist with performance monitoring, process orders and engage with our customers to offer a high level of administration support for the department.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Through the management of contracts, clear guidelines are provided that incorporate both the customer’s and GBRf’s safety requirements.
  • Provide timely financial updates in the most efficient way.

Ensuring the information remains fit for purpose to suit the needs of the business and any issues are highlighted to be resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Attend bi‑monthly (or at suitable agreed intervals) Commercial Directors or Head Of commercial briefs.
  • Provide the Head Of and Financial team with timely updated monthly revenue reports.
  • Monitor and collate weekly performance statistics for each Infrastructure Administration customer flow.
  • Assist with the compilation of updated Forecasts to set timescales.
  • Assist to challenge any monthly revenue / R.

S numbers received that look incorrect for each Contract as set by the Head Of, by working alongside other GBRf departments to identify source of data.

  • Liaise with the GBRf accounts payable team as required.
  • Bring order in financial performance data, budget and forecast documentation.
  • Calculation of all Infrastructure & HS2 administration fuel escalators and ensure all income is either invoiced or accrued.
  • Provide administration and market report support for the Head Of and Account Managers.
  • Represent GB Railfreight with customer engagement and the processing of orders.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills.
  • GCSE’s Mathematics and English grade A‑C (or equivalent).

Desirable

  • Understanding of GBRf cost model and financial processes.
  • Commercial Financial Acumen.
  • Contract Administration Management experience.
  • Knowledge of Railway Operations.
