ABOUT GB PROJECTS
GB Projects Ltd is an ambitious, growing family-run commercial furniture manufacturer with over 50 years of history. Operating from a 30,000 sq ft facility in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, we specialise in high-quality bespoke furniture and components for clients across multiple sectors including High-End Office, Commercial Fit-out, Luxury Automotive, Aerospace and Retail. We are a technical, quality-led manufacturer — the work is varied, the standards are high, and we take real pride in what we make. We have ambitious growth plans and are building the team to match.
THE ROLE
This role exists because of the continued growth of GB Projects and the need to further increase capacity within our technical team. It is more than a CAD role — Using AutoCAD Inventor you will produce accurate manufacturing drawings from client designs and specifications, but you will also take ownership of building and maintaining product BOMs, get involved in estimating new projects (training provided), and support our procurement function by helping source materials and suppliers. We are a small, close-knit technical team, and we need someone flexible who is happy moving between different areas of the business as the day requires. The role may start with a lighter workload in some areas while you learn the ropes, but it is set to grow and develop as you build product knowledge, and the business continues to expand. You will report to the Product Development & Estimating Manager and work closely with the wider production team. The first few months will be about getting under the skin of how we work — our processes and our systems — so that you can start working with real initiative across all areas of the role.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Use AutoCAD Inventor to produce accurate manufacturing drawings from client CAD files, designs and specifications
- Communicating with clients where required to clarify technical details
- Supporting production handover briefs, ensuring all requirements and processes are understood
- Supporting throughout manufacture, answering technical questions and providing guidance
BOM, estimating & procurement
- Building and maintaining accurate product BOMs and resource methods on our internal ERP system (Emax) — this will be a core part of the role
- Estimating new products and projects to client designs and specifications, offering more cost-effective methods or materials where applicable — full training provided
- Supporting procurement by helping source materials and suppliers for upcoming projects
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Essential
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Desirable
- Experience working within joinery manufacturing, with an understanding of materials and construction methods
- Experience using Woodwork for Inventor
- Previous experience of manufacturing estimating, preferably within the joinery sector
The kind of person we are looking for
- Flexible and happy moving between CAD, BOM building, estimating and procurement support — this is not a role for someone who only wants to do one thing
- Methodical and accurate — takes pride in their work
- A clear communicator, comfortable liaising with clients and the production team alike
- Excited by the idea of growing into a broader role as the business and your knowledge develop
- Has the “We Make It Happen” attitude
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary dependent on experience
- Stable, long-term role for the right candidate
- Holidays that increase with length of service
- Secure onsite parking
- A growing business where your contribution is visible and valued
Working Hours: Mon–Thu 8am–5pm • Fri 8am–4pm
