We are looking for an experienced and driven Producer to join our production team. The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping content, generating ideas, scripting, managing live output, and ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality broadcasts across some of our most high-profile shows.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate original and topical ideas for daily segments, debates, and interviews.
- Develop running orders and scripts aligned with editorial priorities and audience engagement goals.
- Book high-profile guests, manage contributor relationships, and brief talent ahead of airtime.
Live Show Production
- Take control of the gallery during live broadcasts, managing timing, cues, and breaking news integration.
- Collaborate with on-air talent, directors, and studio crew to deliver smooth and impactful broadcasts.
- Respond to breaking news and live developments with speed and editorial judgment.
Editorial Leadership
- Uphold GB News’ editorial standards and ensure balance, accuracy, and compliance across all segments.
- Work closely with the Editor and show hosts to shape the editorial tone and direction.
- Monitor output and audience feedback to continuously improve performance.
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate across production, graphics, digital, and technical teams to deliver cohesive shows.
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Contribute to post-show debriefs and forward planning meetings.
Requirements
- Proven experience producing live television news or current affairs shows, preferably in a prime time or high-pressure environment.
- Strong editorial instincts with a keen sense of what makes engaging and balanced television.
- Excellent scripting, communication, and editorial writing skills.
- Calm and decisive under pressure, especially in live broadcast settings.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with strong organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends in line with the schedule.
