HR Director (12 month fixed term contract) Human Resources · London

Reporting to the Company's Chief Operating Officer or such person designated by them, the HR Director will be a leader of the HR team, responsible for providing strategic HR support and guidance to the c-suite and senior leaders across the functional areas of GB News. This individual will play a crucial role in understanding the strategic priorities of the company and developing people solutions that support these priorities. The HR Director will take a proactive approach to complex employee relations, staying ahead of changing legislation to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Additionally, they will work in partnership with leaders across GB News to understand their business objectives and develop HR strategies and initiatives that support the achievement of organisational goals, including being a key ambassador of the company's workplace culture.

Key responsibilities and main tasks

• Implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business goals.
• Partner with senior leaders and functional areas to understand their strategic priorities and develop HR strategies and initiatives that support these priorities.
• Provide HR guidance, coaching, mentorship and support to senior leaders and managers on a range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organisational change.
• Provide HR data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and present recommendations to senior leaders to drive HR effectiveness and efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay ahead of changing legislation and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Workforce planning, including effective programmes on a company-wide basis for key items such as talent acquisition, talent pipeline, performance management, talent development, career planning, succession planning, compensation strategy and recruitment.
• Drive initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness, including change management and team development.
• Be an Ambassador of Culture — Work with the Company's senior leadership to foster a workplace culture which actively promotes and rewards the values of "Drive", "Professionalism" and "Integrity" that the Company seeks in all of its employees.
• Implement and update HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company values and regulatory requirements.
• Lead on HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, talent reviews, succession planning, and equal opportunities.
• Implement and drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
• Review and propose opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the HR operation.
• Lead the HR team ensuring that they are led by example and continuously focused on delivering the businesses and their personal objectives.
• Mentor the HR team, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their roles.
