The Role:
- Video editing clips from live TV for digital distribution on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and other exciting new platforms.
- Liaising with GB News producers and on-air talent to ensure the best moments from shows are intelligently and quickly clipped/edited.
- Collaborate with the digital publishing team to flag opportunities for website articles and to ensure that relevant video clips are always a key part of our storytelling.
- Creating unique original video content to appear across the channel’s digital and social platforms.
- The opportunity to develop other digital publishing skills – including writing, SEO and analytics/insight – to help drive the wider audience growth of the GB News brand.
The Person:
- An enthusiastic, positive individual with a desire to develop their career in a key role in a growing media business.
- A qualification in broadcast journalism/video editing and/or relevant experience.
- A collaborative, hard-worker able to build and maintain positive relationships in a high-pressure news environment.
- Adaptable with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
- A comprehensive understanding/experience of how busy newsrooms work.
- A keen news sense and the ability to video edit at speed and to tight deadlines.
- Highly skilled at using Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
- A love of social media and a proven track record in growing social audiences.
- Good understanding of news and current affairs.
- Full of ideas with the passion and drive to turn them into reality.
- Understanding of Ofcom guidelines and excellent editorial judgement.
- Ability to work flexibly across different shifts - including weekends and early mornings/late evenings as required.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
