The Comment and Opinion Editor will lead the development and delivery of GB News' digital opinion and analysis strategy, commissioning sharp commentary, bold columns and in-depth pieces that drive audience engagement and membership growth. This role will build and maintain a high‑calibre roster of writers, including internal GB News talent and external contributors, ensuring a consistent pipeline of distinctive, agenda‑setting content that resonates with the GB News community. This is an exciting opportunity for a well‑connected senior journalist with commissioning experience and strong editorial instincts, capable of identifying the topics and voices that shape public debate while delivering content that drives audience loyalty and membership growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning and publishing opinion pieces, columns and analysis across gbnews.com.
  • Building and managing a strong roster of writers – from GB News presenters and correspondents to outside journalists, commentators and experts.
  • Commissioning pieces that help readers make sense of complex and fast‑moving stories.
  • Developing signature columnists and regular features that keep audiences coming back.
  • Partnering with our Community and Marketing teams to make sure content is pulling its weight on membership and engagement.
  • Working with Editorial and Programming to turn broadcast moments into digital ones including polls, commentary segments and more.
