This is an exciting opportunity to help drive high-profile programmes that cover major news stories from the UK, and across the world, with energy, creativity, and a distinct voice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Editor in the editorial planning and production of shows, ensuring programmes are relevant, timely and distinctive.
  • Lead editorial meetings and guide a team of producers, researchers and reporters to develop compelling content and segments.
  • Write and edit scripts, headlines, and in-show graphics with clarity and flair, ensuring editorial accuracy and tone.
  • React swiftly to breaking news and major developments, coordinating with UK and international teams to deliver informed coverage.
  • Collaborate with on-air talent to shape interviews, monologues, debates and panel discussions.
  • Oversee the integration of live reports, guest interviews, and video packages into the show’s rundown.

  • A deep understanding of UK news, politics, and culture — with a strong grasp of international affairs.
  • Excellent editorial judgement with a strong track record of shaping compelling content under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding scriptwriting and sub-editing skills.
  • Confidence in handling breaking news and rapidly evolving stories.
  • Experience working with studio production teams, technical crews, and on-air talent in a live broadcast setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire junior staff.
  • Flexibility to work late hours (live evening broadcast) and weekends.
