Uniserve is seeking reliable and experienced Class 1 C+E Day Drivers to support our Warrington operation. The role involves day driving on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, delivering to customer stores using trailers that may include double deck operation, including fixed deck and moving deck trailers. Drivers will complete store deliveries, unload cages using tail lift equipment and reload empty cages for return.

Salary: £46,500 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts, paid breaks

This role is physically demanding. Drivers must be comfortable moving loaded and empty cages, using tail lift equipment, working in store delivery areas and safely handling freight in line with manual handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Class 1 C+E vehicles in line with legal, customer and company requirements
  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly using the required reporting process
  • Deliver cages into customer stores using tail lift equipment where required
  • Manually unload loaded cages from trailers and move them safely into store delivery areas
  • Reload empty cages onto the trailer for return movement
  • Operate trailers safely, including fixed deck and moving deck double deck trailers where required by the operation
  • Complete all delivery paperwork, PODs and electronic records accurately and on time
  • Maintain compliance with Drivers Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph rules
  • Communicate clearly with transport planners, site teams and customers regarding delays, issues or changes
  • Represent Uniserve professionally, maintaining high standards of safety, customer service and conduct

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Valid UK Class 1 C+E licence
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification card
  • Digital tachograph card
  • Good understanding of Drivers Hours, WTD and road transport compliance
  • Physically able to move cages and undertake manual handling throughout the shift
  • Flexible approach to start times, shift patterns and customer requirements

Desirable / Preferred:

  • Double deck trailer experience, including fixed deck and moving deck trailers
  • Tail lift experience
  • Retail store delivery experience
  • Experience with cage-based deliveries and collections
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Previous multi-drop Class 1 experience
