Uniserve connects businesses with their customers through a network of excellence. We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across our network.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop efficient, cost‑effective transport routes and schedules across all modes
- Analyse transport options, considering cost, time, capacity, and environmental impact
- Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, fuel use, and vehicle utilisation
- Drive process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, carriers, suppliers, and customers
- Identify transport risks and implement effective contingency plans
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
- Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
What you'll bring:
- Experience in working within a busy transport operation
- Experience in planning multi drop groupage and full loads
- Managing drivers / customers on a daily basis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and transport planning software
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic
