Job Summary: We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic and experienced Dental Nurse to join our friendly and professional private dental clinic. The ideal candidate will support clinical staff in delivering high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring that the surgery is well-prepared, infection control protocols are followed, and patients are made to feel at ease throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, maintain, and decontaminate the clinical environment, equipment, and instruments in accordance with infection prevention and control standards
· Implement measures to prevent physical, chemical, and microbiological contamination in clinical and laboratory settings
· Provide chairside support to dentists, hygienists, and dental therapists during clinical procedures
· Prepare, mix, handle, and manage dental materials, including those used for impressions and restorations
· Prepare patients, equipment, and materials for dental radiography, and process dental radiographs in line with legislation and local protocols
· Record dental charting and oral tissue assessments as directed by other registrants
· Maintain full, accurate, contemporaneous, and confidential patient records
· Monitor, support, reassure, and provide appropriate advice to patients throughout their care
· Assist with medical emergencies and support patients and colleagues in emergency situations
· Manage laboratory work, stock control, and associated administrative duties within the clinical setting
· Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals in accordance with local policies and scope of practice
· Maintain professional competence and compliance through continuing professional development (CPD) and mandatory training
Requirements:
- NEBDN National Diploma or equivalent dental nursing qualification
- Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
- Minimum 3yrs of experience with GOOD Portfolio on all areas of private treatment.
- Strong understanding of cross-infection and HTM 01-05 standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team and under pressure
- Commitment to patient care and confidentiality
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications in dental radiography, oral health education, sedation, or implant nursing
- Experience using dental software (e.g., SOE, R4, Dentally, Exact)
- Previous experience in private practice settings

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
