In this role, you will:

The Head of Data and Analytics is responsible for enabling the organisation’s data strategy, owning overall data delivery, defining architecture decisions, setting the analytics roadmap, and engaging effectively with stakeholders across the business and IT. As the leader of the data team, this role acts as the data architect and strategic overseer of the end‑to‑end data ecosystem.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Lead a small team of data engineers to deliver a mature service within the wider IT team.
  • Design and oversee the data architecture: Snowflake schemas, Matillion orchestration patterns, integration patterns between Salesforce, AWS and Snowflake.
  • Lead compliance to data governance policies and support frameworks that create a single source of truth from internal and external sources.
  • Drive the optimisation of the data function by enhancing Power BI reporting and supporting streamlined, data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Inform and shape the overall technology roadmap relevant to data project / continual service improvement.
  • Own the analytics backlog and partner with business stakeholders to prioritise dashboards and insights delivered via Power BI.
  • Oversee the development of data warehouses and other core data platforms.
  • Guide and educate internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business processes and data requirements.
  • Translate organisational data needs into tangible solutions and high‑quality, analysis‑ready datasets.
  • Manage vendors and external partners (Matillion, Snowflake, AWS, Salesforce, Power BI) to maximise platform ROI and resolve issues.

A bit about you – You are/have:

  • Proven experience in a leading data role, with responsibility for defining strategy and architecture in a small team environment.
  • Strong expertise in financial services data architecture.
  • Hands‑on experience building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using Matillion (or similar tools) on AWS.
  • Understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, metadata management, and compliance, especially in a regulated financial services context.
  • Experience leading a data team with a Financial Services environment, ideally Banking.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills to align IT and business partners.
  • Degree/Higher Education Institute (HEI) qualifications are favourable.
  • Professional accreditations from recognised industry bodies and a commitment to continual professional development are preferred.
