We are looking for two people to join our Logistics desk in the role of Transport & Balancing Operator where you will play a key role in understanding and reducing costs associated with imbalance and transportation. You will help join the dots between demand forecasting, pricing, sales, and finance. One role will focus on the Dutch market and can be based in Den Bosch or Manchester with the second having a French focus with Paris or London as base locations.

What you will do?

  • The key areas of focus for this role are as follows:
  • You will use your strong data skills to understand and review nominations allocation and imbalance positions, and work closely with others to identify any issues causing profit leakage.
  • Become the leading expert on capacity to ensure efficient pricing and identify any optimisation possibilities.
  • Work collaboratively across Portfolio Management, Sales, Risk and Finance teams to mitigate risks and identify opportunities to add value.
  • Where required, collaborate internally on clean energy certificate exposures and approach to balancing certificates to regulatory/legal requirements.

What you’ll bring to the role?

You will

  • Be highly organised, with strong attention to detail and adept at managing competing priorities.
  • Have well developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide audience
  • Be entrepreneurial in nature and display a dedication to quantitative rigour
  • Be experienced in the natural gas, power, and emissions market
  • Understand market regulation and compliance (desirable)
  • Be fluent in English with another foreign language (desirable)
  • Be capable of coding in python (desirable)
  • Have proficiency in visual tools (Power BI / Tableau) (desirable)
