We are recruiting an Apprenticeship Performance and Development Coach to join the Delivery team, working closely with employers and learners to deliver high‑quality coaching sessions and workshops. The role supports learners from Level 3 through to degree‑level apprenticeships across the digital and technical IT sectors, helping them apply skills and knowledge effectively in the workplace to succeed in their roles and careers.

The Apprentice Coach will engage with employer organisations to support talent development through recruitment, reskilling and retention strategies, while coaching a caseload of learners to maximise progression, retention, timely programme completion and whole‑person development. The role also involves designing and delivering engaging training using blended and task‑based approaches, maintaining accurate learner records to meet compliance requirements, and working collaboratively with colleagues to support organisational goals and learner success.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Build and maintain strong, responsive employer partnerships, supporting vacancy creation, workforce planning, digital transformation, and increased apprenticeship and skills programme uptake.
  • Plan, deliver, assess and review high‑quality work‑based learning, aligning individual learning plans with programme and educational requirements and completing documentation accurately.
  • Monitor and evaluate learner progress against programme benchmarks, identifying risks early and implementing action plans to remove barriers to success.
  • Engage employers to identify growth and talent needs through outreach and training needs analysis, supporting effective recruitment, retention, and reskilling.
  • Ensure active employer and learner engagement through high‑quality coaching sessions, using recognised formative coaching and assessment approaches.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of learner progress through consistent reporting and effective use of systems, providing timely updates to employers and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, document and manage learner action plans to address additional learning or support needs.
  • Coach learners to develop occupational competence, personal effectiveness, and employability, supporting progression and sustained careers in tech or digital sectors.
  • Facilitate formative and summative assessment of learners’ performance, personal development, and English and maths using a range of assessment methods.
  • Drive learner engagement, retention and timely programme completion with positive outcomes.
  • Design and deliver high‑quality classroom, virtual and blended learning aligned to organisational platforms and quality standards.
  • Contribute to compliance, quality assurance, safeguarding and customer experience processes.
What we’re looking for:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent. (As the role includes supporting degree‑level learners, a degree‑level qualification is required)
  • English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above (e.g. GCSE grade C/4+).
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals at the start of their careers and for building strong learning and development partnerships with employers.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to support learners to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a high level of self‑organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to personally demonstrate, and to develop others in line with, the TDM core values.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and attitudes to work and life.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to changing legislation, and work confidently with evolving systems and processes.
  • A full, clean driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel as required.
