We are hiring an experienced PTSE Systems Engineer to work directly with a leading UK-based automotive OEM in the mid and luxury vehicle segment. This role focuses on the design, development, release, and problem resolution of Powertrain & Thermal Systems Engineering (PTSE) components, working within a structured OEM environment and supporting complex vehicle programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, release, and development of PTSE components including fuel tanks, filler systems, fuel delivery modules, evaporative emission systems, fuel lines, and filters.
- Drive Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and complex problem-solving using 8D methodology.
- Apply systems engineering principles across requirements, integration, verification, and validation.
- Support GD&T, tolerance management, and variation analysis throughout component maturation.
- Contribute to APQP, EBER, commodity planning, and cost optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.
Must-Have Experience
- Hands-on experience with PTSE / fuel system components.
- Strong background in design & release within an automotive OEM or Tier-1.
- Proven expertise in 8D problem solving and FMA.
- Exposure to systems engineering and structured product development processes.
- Experience working in OEM governance, quality, and launch environments.
