We're seeking an experienced SCADA Architect or Senior SCADA Engineer to support a major energy and utilities transformation programme focused on modernising operational technology, network management and smart grid infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in the design, integration and optimisation of SCADA, ADMS, EMS and DERMS platforms supporting electricity distribution, transmission and renewable energy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise-scale SCADA architectures
- Integrate SCADA platforms with ADMS, EMS and DERMS environments
- Deliver real-time telemetry, monitoring and control solutions
- Support DMS and Network Management System initiatives
- Define OT communications strategies including RTU and substation integration
- Improve network visibility, resilience and operational performance
- Support smart grid and renewable energy programmes
- Provide technical leadership across OT and SCADA workstreams
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and cyber security requirements
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a SCADA Architect, Lead SCADA Engineer or Senior SCADA Engineer
- Strong background within energy, utilities, transmission or distribution environments
- Experience with ADMS, EMS and/or DERMS platforms
- Strong understanding of Distribution Management Systems (DMS)
- Experience delivering telemetry and remote monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of OT environments and industrial control systems
- RTU, substation and field device integration experience
- Knowledge of IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3 and OPC protocols
- Understanding of control centre operations and smart grid technologies
Desirable
- Renewable energy integration projects
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
- OT cyber security experience
- Exposure to Siemens Spectrum Power, Schneider Electric ADMS, GE PowerOn, OSI Monarch, Hitachi Energy Network Manager or ABB Network Manager
