About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst will work collaboratively, but independently, with the programme team to determine the approach to deliver expert business analysis, activities and deliverables for large and complex projects or programmes. The appropriate techniques & methodologies will be determined to support the type of implementation needed to meet the business needs & objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Business Analysis workstream activities & deliverables within a complex programme or project with the ability to deal with uncertainty.
  • Definition & validation of the scope, objectives & benefits.
  • Define & gain agreement of the business goals needed to steer the project, programme or work stream.
  • Define & plan the agreed analysis approach.
  • Identify the deliverables together with the tasks & activities appropriate to support the programme or project.
  • Provide resource and milestone estimates.
  • Resource demand planning.
  • Engage with Product/Business owners & all key stakeholders across multiple business areas to establish business needs and promote business analysis capability.
  • Responsible for the elicitation and analysis of complex high level and detailed requirements.
  • Producing high quality requirements documentation which captures stakeholder needs.
  • Use of requirements modelling techniques as appropriate.
  • Managing the requirements throughout the project lifecycle to assure effective scope control and ensuring solution compliance to requirements is traceable through to implementation.
  • Provide documented compliance & traceability.
  • Evaluates the financial, cultural, technological, organisational, and environmental factors which must be addressed in the change projects, programmes, or work streams.
  • Ability to lead discussions with all key functional areas.
  • Ability to plan & facilitate business analysis led workshops.
  • Responsible for process designs, re-engineering & modelling working collaboratively with designated operational & transition teams to support implementation.
  • Responsible for working with solution providers (i.e., IT, Digital, Technology or Operations) to assure the delivery of the requirements & attaining the business objectives.
  • Leading the BA workstream & facilitating working collaboratively with cross-functional delivery teams to achieve the desired business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of business analysis in a multi-disciplined and commercial environment. (3-10 years)
  • Degree (Business or IT preferred) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a communications, media, or complex organisation.
  • ISEB Business Analysis Diploma, IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), IIBA Certificate of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or equivalent.

Required Skills

  • Successful delivery of complex, cross-functional business change projects from start-up to implementation.
  • Proven experience of working with delivery methodologies. (i.e., Waterfall)
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience with a variety of Business Analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience of defining analysis approach and planning the Business Analysis workstream including identification of deliverables & tasks, estimating resources and milestones.
  • Excellent management of stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis tools & modelling techniques.
  • Advises on appropriate approach & application.
  • Demonstrable skills in presenting information effectively.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proven business analysis experience in telecom (3–10 years) within multi‑disciplined, commercial, and complex organisations, including communications and media environments.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, cross‑functional business change initiatives from start‑up through to implementation.
  • Strong experience working with delivery methodologies, particularly Waterfall, and applying a wide range of business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experienced in defining analysis approaches and planning end‑to‑end business analysis workstreams, including deliverables, tasks, milestones, and resource estimates.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven communication, influencing, problem‑solving, and conflict‑management abilities.
