We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Architect with deep expertise in IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) to design and deliver near–real-time data integration from Mainframe DB2 to downstream data platforms. The role requires strong data modelling, mainframe data architecture, and hands-on experience enabling CDC-driven data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and modernization initiatives. The architect will work closely with mainframe teams, data engineering, and downstream consumers to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient data movement aligned with enterprise data standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of CDC solutions using IBM Change Data Capture for Mainframe DB2 sources
- Define end-to-end data flows from Mainframe DB2 to target systems (e.g., relational databases, data lakes, data warehouses, streaming platforms)
- Design and govern logical and physical data models aligned with enterprise data architecture standards
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, latency, and recovery in CDC-based replication and synchronization
- Define standards for schema evolution, metadata management, and data lineage
- Collaborate with application, mainframe, and data engineering teams to integrate CDC into broader data platforms
- Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and operational stability of CDC solutions
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data governance requirements
- Provide architectural oversight, documentation, and technical leadership throughout delivery
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as a Mainframe Architect / Data Architect
- Hands-on expertise with IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) as a primary skill
- Deep knowledge of Mainframe DB2 (data structures, performance, and utilities)
- Experience designing data movement from mainframe DB2 to distributed platforms
- Strong understanding of data integration, replication, and near-real-time data processing
- Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, and error handling in CDC pipelines
- Experience working in complex, large-scale enterprise environments
Desirable / Nice to Have
