Responsibilities

  • Deep, hands-on expertise across SAP Basis, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA
  • Proven ownership of non-functional requirements at enterprise scale, including:
    • Resilience and high availability (clustering, active/passive designs, failover strategies)
    • Performance and scalability (sizing, tuning, load characteristics under migration and BAU conditions)
    • Disaster recovery, recovery time, and recovery point objectives
    • Operational stability, run readiness, and production support models

Qualifications

  • Essentials:
    • Strong experience designing and assuring large-scale SAP landscape architectures and complex integrations
    • Ability to lead critical root-cause analysis during high-impact incidents and drive long-term corrective action
    • Hands-on collaboration with testing teams to define and execute performance, resilience, and failover testing
    • Solid infrastructure understanding across operating systems, networking, storage, virtualisation, and security
    • Confidence to provide architectural direction, challenge, and assurance across delivery teams and vendor partners
  • Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
    • Very strong hands-on delivery credentials
    • A track record of owning and resolving hard technical problems
    • The confidence to operate at pace with senior visibility and scrutiny
    • Experience working in complex or regulated environments
    • Banking experience is beneficial but not mandatory. What matters most is depth, judgement, and the ability to deliver when it really counts.
