The AI Specialist is an expert practitioner responsible for delivering complex AI solutions across design, build, data science, and deployment activities. Operating within the AI Centre of Enablement, the role supports the AI Foundry delivery team by providing deep technical expertise and hands-on contribution to advanced AI initiatives. The role operates across multiple AI domains, including generative AI, agentic AI, and data-driven intelligence, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and responsibly deployed. Through technical leadership and specialist insight, the role accelerates the organisation’s ability to adopt and operationalise advanced AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist technical expertise across AI solution design, development, and deployment, supporting complex and high impact AI initiatives.
  • Design and implement advanced AI capabilities by contributing hands-on to solutions involving large language models, agentic architectures, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and automation workflows.
  • Guide solution patterns and technical approaches by advising on best practices for generative AI, data-driven intelligence, and enterprise AI architectures within the Microsoft AI ecosystem.
  • Support data science and model optimisation activities by assessing data readiness, evaluating model performance, and improving accuracy, consistency, and reliability of AI outputs.
  • Develop reusable AI assets including prompt libraries, connectors, templates, and technical frameworks to accelerate delivery across the AI Foundry.
  • Act as a technical authority and mentor by supporting AI Product Developers, AI Design Analysts, and AI Test Leads through guidance, coaching, and hands-on problem solving.
  • Embed operational and responsible AI practices by supporting MLOps, monitoring, lifecycle management, and adherence to responsible AI principles and governance standards.
