Java Developer (Quarkus)

We are searching for experienced Senior Java / Quarkus Full Stack Engineers to support a major financial services transformation programme, developing secure, scalable cloud-native applications and real-time data processing platforms.

This is an opportunity to contribute to complex engineering solutions using modern Java, React and Google Cloud technologies, with scope to influence architecture, engineering standards and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise applications using Java 17+, Quarkus, React and RESTful APIs.
• Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions using Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
• Deploy and operate cloud-native services using GCP, Cloud Run and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Implement Docker containerisation, Kubernetes orchestration and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Embed security-by-design, DevSecOps, automated testing and observability practices.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code and design reviews, mentor engineers and resolve complex production issues.
• Microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Google Cloud Platform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Build, IAM and Secret Manager.
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Automated testing, secure coding, monitoring and distributed tracing.
• Strong technical leadership and experience delivering complex cloud-native systems.
• Working Arrangement: Hybrid, 2 days onsite per week
• Duration: Initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension
