We are supporting a major UK banking client on the expansion of its Public Cloud Platform capability and are seeking senior Google Cloud specialists on a contract basis. These roles sit within a large scale cloud transformation programme focused on enabling secure, compliant, and scalable adoption of Google Cloud across the organization.
You will join a cross-disciplinary engineering environment delivering platform, infrastructure, networking, and API capabilities that underpin critical banking services. These roles are delivery focused, operating at scale, and embedded within a regulated enterprise setting. This engagement suits senior contractors who are comfortable working through ambiguity, influencing technical direction, and delivering production grade cloud platforms.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering secure, compliant Google Cloud platforms and services
- Building and operating cloud infrastructure, networking, and API platforms using infrastructure as code
- Creating reusable cloud products and patterns that enable rapid, self‑service adoption
- Embedding DevOps practices, automation, and operational resilience into platform capabilities
- Supporting delivery teams across the bank with cloud adoption and platform integration
- Working closely with security, risk, and architecture teams to meet regulatory requirements
- Contributing to technical standards, patterns, and engineering best practice
Required experience:
- Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform in enterprise environments
- Proven delivery experience across at least one of platform architecture, infrastructure and DevOps, cloud networking, or API gateway platforms
- Infrastructure as code expertise, Terraform preferred
- Experience operating in regulated industries, financial services strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of cloud security, resilience, and operational controls
- Ability to work effectively within multi‑vendor consultancy and client teams
- Banking or financial services programme experience
- Experience modernising legacy infrastructure or integration platforms
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
