The role involves leading the end-to-end development of cabin safety and restraint systems from concept through to launch. You will have full ownership of technical delivery, supplier management, and validation, with a focus on cost, weight, and quality.
What you will be doing:
- Delivering engineering solutions for prototype and production parts
- Owning cabin safety and restraint system development
- Optimising designs for cost, weight, quality, and manufacturability
- Managing suppliers and hitting programme milestones
- Ensuring compliance with OEM processes, PLM standards, and regulations
- Collaborating with manufacturing, CAE, and senior stakeholders
- Driving validation, testing, and build support
- Maintaining BOMs, DFMEAs, drawings, and technical documentation
What you need:
- Strong experience in automotive cabin safety and restraint systems
- Solid knowledge of regulations and homologation
- Hands-on experience with plastics, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- Proven capability in concept design, packaging, and surface development
- Confident managing suppliers and complex programmes
- CATIA V5 experience is essential; V6 and 3DX are highly desirable
- Comfortable working independently and making engineering calls
Nice to have:
- VAVE mindset with the confidence to challenge designs
- Structured problem-solving experience such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Six Sigma
