We are looking for a strong Azure Cosmos DB Developer to join a data engineering team building scalable, cloud native platforms on Microsoft Azure.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and application development, requiring someone comfortable working with Cosmos DB, Py Spark, and modern backend development using C# or .

NET.

You will design and develop distributed data solutions capable of handling high throughput workloads, large scale data processing and real time services within Azure environments.

This role suits someone who understands both data platform engineering and software development, not just one side of the fence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data solutions using Azure Cosmos DB
  • Develop and optimise distributed data processing pipelines using Apache Spark via Py Spark
  • Build and maintain backend services using Microsoft . NET or C#
  • Integrate Cosmos DB with Azure data services and application layers
  • Design data models optimised for partitioning, scalability and performance within Cosmos DB
  • Build APIs and services that interact with large scale data systems
  • Implement monitoring, logging and performance tuning across the data stack
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects and Dev Ops teams to deliver production grade data platforms
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands on experience with Azure Cosmos DB
  • Experience building distributed processing pipelines using Apache Spark and Py Spark
  • Backend development experience with Microsoft . NET or C#
  • Strong understanding of No SQL data modelling, partitioning strategies and performance optimisation
  • Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments
  • Familiarity with building high throughput, low latency data systems
  • Experience with REST APIs and microservice architectures
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with Azure Databricks
  • Infrastructure and deployment knowledge using Terraform or Bicep
