6-12 Month Contract | London or Edinburgh | Hybrid (2-3 Days Onsite) | Excellent Day Rate
We're looking for an experienced Mainframe Middleware Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise across CICS, z/OS and IBM WebSphere Liberty to support a major enterprise transformation programme. This role focuses on the engineering, configuration, optimisation and support of modern Java workloads running within CICS Liberty environments.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Deep knowledge of CICS systems engineering and z/OS infrastructure
- CICS region setup, configuration and JVM server management
- IBM WebSphere Liberty administration and runtime configuration
- Java workload management, JVM tuning and performance optimisation
- RACF, TLS, certificates, keyrings and security integration
- REST/API enablement and modern integration practices
- Problem determination using dumps, traces, logs and SMF data
- Capacity planning, resilience, HA/DR and operational support
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and release processes
- Monitoring, observability and middleware operational management
