We are hiring an experienced Desktop Engineer to support scientists within a Pharma R&D laboratory environment. This role is hands-on, close to the science, and focused on keeping lab IT secure, compliant and operational.

You will support laboratory PCs, scientific instruments and connected devices, onboarding new hardware, hardening systems, and making sure scientists spend their time on research rather than IT issues.

What you will be doing:

  • Imaging and onboarding new computers into the domain and network
  • Supporting and maintaining a global estate of circa 8000 laboratory PCs
  • Securing and hardening new and existing hardware
  • Acting as a technical partner to scientists and lab teams
  • Troubleshooting and enabling data flows from scientific instruments

What you will bring:

  • Solid working knowledge of Active Directory
  • Experience implementing validated data backup solutions on laboratory analytical equipment across GxP and non-GxP environments
  • Strong user support capability including incident management, access management and coaching scientists
  • Experience testing and validating computer software, including technical documentation
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems

Nice to have:

  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working within defined processes, procedures and regulated environments
