We are seeking a Celonis Data Engineer to join a leading financial services organization, playing a critical role in transforming complex banking data into actionable process insights. This role is key to enabling a data-driven, insight-led operating model within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering & Event Log Construction
- Design, build, and maintain robust event log pipelines for process mining in Celonis
- Translate raw process data into structured event logs (Case ID, Activities, Timestamps, Attributes)
- Develop scalable, reusable, and high-performance event log frameworks
- Data Model & Pipeline Development
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines from multiple source systems
- Manage data ingestion, transformation, and refresh cycles for Celonis datasets
- Design and optimize process mining data models (CCPM & OCPM)
- Handle large-scale transactional datasets while ensuring process integrity and traceability
- Performance Optimization & Data Quality
- Optimize queries, transformations, and data models for performance and scalability
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis
- Identify and resolve data quality issues with proactive remediation strategies
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborate with process analysts, business stakeholders, and functional teams
- Document data models, ETL logic, and event log definitions
- Enable analysis-ready datasets for business users within Celonis
- Governance & Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit standards
- Apply best practices including version control, modular design, and monitoring
- Support continuous improvement and optimization initiatives
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in data engineering for process mining using Celonis
- Hands-on expertise in event log creation, data pipelines, and transformation frameworks (CCPM & OCPM)
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Solid understanding of data modeling and ETL/ELT concepts
- Experience working with large datasets and optimizing analytical workloads
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of process mining concepts and analytical data structures
- Experience in Banking / Financial Services (BFSI)
- Exposure to KYC Operations
- Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
