At Gaussion we want to reduce charging times for electric vehicles (EVs) so that they are comparable with refuelling a traditional combustion vehicle. We believe that our patent-protected technology can achieve this, meaning lower resistance, faster EV charging and longer warranties. With a rapid expansion of our London headquarters, we have several opportunities to join our team.
Role
You will be the company’s general legal counsel, working closely with senior leadership, commercial, operations, and technical teams. Main responsibilities will include:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (including non-disclosure agreements, supplier contracts, customer agreements, proof-of-concepts, joint development agreements, partnership and collaboration agreements, sales agreements, and service agreements).
- Regular reporting of legal risks to the executive team, with reporting to the Board of Directors as required.
- Support compliance with data protection, IP, competition law, and general regulatory requirements, engaging external counsel as required.
- Assist with investor documentation and due diligence during fundraising.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including maintaining and improving contract templates, guidance, and related processes.
- Track specific contract requirements and support in compliance within the company and its affiliates.
- Support new business initiatives, partnerships, and product development from a legal perspective.
- Support company secretarial and statutory compliance requirements in the UK (including drafting and circulating board resolutions, compliance with Shareholders’ Agreements, and other governance matters).
You will report directly to the CEO with dotted line reporting to the Board of Directors as required, while working closely with the business development team to ensure that key milestones are achieved and the company’s business plan is delivered on time and in compliance with all regulations. Through your legal support and strategic advice, you will play a key role in supporting the successful development and deployment of Gaussion’s products in the market.
Requirements:
- Qualifying UK law degree.
- Completion of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam or Level 6 exams for Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
- 5+ years' experience.
- Deep understanding of corporate law, commercial transitions, contract drafting.
Preferred experience:
- Understanding of regulatory compliance, employment law and litigation.
- Experience in deep tech or start-up environments.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic legal solutions.
