People Advisor | Gaucho Head Office
Gaucho is looking for an experienced and approachable People Advisor to join our People team at our London Head Office (5 minutes walk from Oxford Circus).
Working alongside the wider People Team, you will provide trusted, practical support across the employee journey. Your key focus will be employee relations, coaching managers and supporting wider people and engagement projects across our restaurants.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands the fast pace of hospitality and can balance sound judgement with empathy, integrity and attention to detail.
Contract: Full‑time, 40 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for day‑to‑day people enquiries, providing clear advice and escalating more serious matters where appropriate.
- Support and coach operational leaders through employee relations matters, ensuring processes are fair, consistent and legally compliant.
- Attend disciplinary and grievance hearings and produce accurate meeting notes.
- Build trusted relationships with colleagues at every level, providing guidance on policies, procedures and good people practice.
- Prepare people documentation, including promotion letters, salary increase letters and contract amendments.
- Maintain accurate employee records and provide timely reports when required.
- Support employee references and benefits administration.
- Help deliver employee engagement activities and wider People projects.
- Support the delivery of Gaucho's diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.
- Work collaboratively with the Talent and Learning & Development teams to provide a joined‑up experience for our people.
What We Are Looking For
- At least two years' experience in an HR or People role, including practical experience of supporting employee relations matters.
- A strong working knowledge of UK employment law and good HR practice.
- Experience coaching managers and helping them navigate people matters confidently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
- A high level of integrity, discretion and respect for confidentiality.
- Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence working independently while contributing fully to the wider People team.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience would be an advantage.
