This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

What is the role?

Being a Senior Construction Planner (Airfields and Civils) at London Gatwick, you’ll be able to see the impact your work has on the ever-changing landscape of the airport and our passengers. The diversity of projects and the unique live environment will be sure to keep you challenged and constantly learning.

In this Senior Construction Planner role, you will have responsibility for some of our more complex and interesting projects with a typical value of £50m+. You will support and mentor junior Planners, collaborate with skilled experts across the wider team and ultimately ensure optimisation of resources to meet project targets.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Programme Planning Manager, you will play a key role in the Construction team, responsible for schedule development, monitoring, recovery plans and reporting. Other duties include:

  • Developing and managing robust delivery schedules with clear targets and understanding of all activities and interfaces that support the successful completion of the projects.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, including contractors and project managers, engineers and subcontractors regarding the status of projects.
  • Offering technical advice and support to team members about best practices and utilisation of the schedule to support the project objectives.
  • Performing schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and involvement in risk management and mitigation measures.

  • Experience in managing complex projects and with Primavera software (P6), MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience of working in a live environment is desirable, although airport experience is not essential.
