The Engineering Safety & Compliance Advisor will provide hands‐on support and expert guidance to ensure daily Engineering operations adhere to HSE policies, legal requirements and Engineering Safety Standards. The role will work closely with business units to identify hazards, opportunities, provide coaching and reinforce open communication around health and safety. Through regular inspections and collaborative problem‐solving to help embed a positive safety culture and empower employees to take personal responsibility for their and others health and safety. The Engineering Safety & Compliance advisor will also be involved in delivery of Safety related training to front line Technicians to ensure they remain in date and competent.
What will you do?
- Serve as a point of contact for day‐to‐day HSE advice, supporting operational staff in understanding and meeting requirements against ISO 45001, legal requirements and Engineering Safety Standards.
- Assist in preparing and completing assessments and reports for a range of diverse tasks.
- Provide support and assurance of investigations into incidents, near misses and unsafe acts or conditions, helping to ensure corrective actions are completed and learning is shared.
- Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and safety training courses to reinforce critical safety topics.
- Complete inspection and audits to provide support and assurance, reporting findings and contributing to continuous improvement.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- HSE experience in a multi-function and customer orientated organisation.
- Safety Management Systems
- HSE Legislation and enforcement frameworks
- HSE General Guidance and Advice
- Internal audit / inspection and Monitor and Review programmes
- Risk assessments (includes e.g. fire safety, Legionella, COSHH, Asbestos, DSE, Manual Handling)
- Incident investigations
- Health and safety in a multi-function customer orientated organisation
- Delivery of HSE objectives, aims and improvement programmes
