Overview
A Project Lead with a successful history of delivering large-scale construction and infrastructure projects is sought after at London Gatwick.
You would be working on London Gatwick\’s Airfield programme, including projects for the refurbishment of runways, upgrading of the air traffic control systems and a £350m project to improve the operation of aircraft across the airfield.

What is the role?
Reporting to Gatwick\’s Airfield Delivery Lead, you\’ll be responsible for taking complex projects through various stages, from design and procurement to construction and delivery. You\’ll be focused high-quality results and handing over the project confident in the knowledge you have played a pivotal role in helping London Gatwick deliver something impactful for the business and its customers.
What are we looking for?
The live environment at London Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem solving skills and an innovative outlook. In addition, this role requires:
- Significant experience as a Project Leader or Project Manager, leading infrastructure projects in a live operational environment. Your experience will demonstrate handling big projects or multi-year programs worth over £100 million (ideally in a relevant industry, for example, highways, airfields, rail or nuclear)
- Experience in leading teams of 10 people or more
- Demonstrable experience in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, to explain how you are working and why in a straightforward way.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills, along with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate, and create learning opportunities for others.
