What is the role?
Gatwick Airport is evolving at an exceptional pace, making this an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Integrator (Airfield) to join a high‑performing team delivering the airport's future infrastructure programme.
What will you do?
- The Operations Integrator (Airfield) role will support the planning and execution of strategically important airfield projects in a live operational airport environment.
- Working across the Airfield Construction Programme, you will provide operational expertise throughout the project lifecycle — from feasibility and design through to operational readiness and handover into business‑as‑usual.
- Deliver regular safety engagement activities, including safety tours, surveillance inspections, and performance reporting to support world‑class health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Lead stakeholder engagement for assigned airfield projects across the airport estate.
- Coordinate and lead Operational Readiness Trials, working closely with Airfield Operations and key stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration.
- Support project teams in identifying and mitigating operational and delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Take a lead role in administering and implementing the Weekly Works Scheduling Approvals process, ensuring operational teams are informed and engaged in the planning of airfield works.
- Support feasibility studies and assess operational impacts, constructability, project interfaces, and resource requirements.
- Assist in ensuring project scope and designs meet operational and regulatory requirements, including EASA, CAA and GAL Airfield Standards.
- Provide operational guidance to project teams, contractors, suppliers, and airfield systems specialists working in the live airfield environment.
- Support airport‑wide communications relating to operationally impactful projects.
- Assist in the preparation, approval, and implementation of Airfield Works Instructions (AWIs and AWI Lite).
- Support the development and delivery of Airfield Operational Readiness Plans.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Previous experience delivering or supporting airfield projects, including the management of interfacing and concurrent works within operational environments, and a strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety management standards, along with experience delivering safeguarding activities within an aerodrome environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong understanding of Airfield Operations and Obstacle Limitation Surfaces.
- Ability to obtain an Airside Driving Permit and Manoeuvring Licence.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
- CSCS Card.
