This role is an onsite position; shift times vary depending on the type of survey and passengers/flights being targeted. A typical week is 20 hours, rostered between the hours of 0500 and 2300, split over three 6–7-hour shifts per week, which can be across 7 days a week. The roster is released a year in advance.
What is the role?
The Market Research team undertake a range of surveys to collect information on the opinions, experiences and preferences of our customers that ensures we can provide the best service and inform future planning choices for the airport.

It entails working both landside & airside, across all areas of the airport, acting as an ambassador through positive interactions. Surveys are primarily conducted on tablets and most of the time you will work alone on a shift basis, but as part of a wider team.
What will you do?
- On-airport face-to-face interviews undertaken on tablets using pre-loaded structured questionnaires throughout all areas of the airport.
- Responsible for planning for your day in response to quotas and flight demands.
- Interviewing in accordance with the Market Research Society\’s Code of Conduct
- Recording your quotas and updating spreadsheets on Microsoft Teams.
- Attending quarterly team meetings to contribute to the success of the wider team.
- Act as ambassadors for London Gatwick Airport, carrying out interviews in a positive and professional manner.
Do you have what we\’re looking for?
- Market Research experience is an advantage.
- Airport knowledge whilst not essential would be an advantage.
- Must be able to read, understand and speak English fluently, the ability to speak other languages would be an asset.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously under own initiative.
- Previous experience of working towards and prioritising targets.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
- Able to approach and engage people.
- Able to go above and beyond to deliver great customer experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Some IT skills and knowledge of MS Office package.
- Must be able to get into London Gatwick to start/finish work for 0500 – 2300.
