This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
London Gatwick is offering an exciting opportunity for a CDM Advisor to join our dynamic Construction team at the world's most efficient single-runway airport. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping the future of the airport, supporting the delivery of a major capital investment programme to enhance infrastructure and facilities. As a CDM Advisor, you will be instrumental in promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation. You will support the implementation of best practices for assessing, monitoring, and controlling risks during both design and construction phases, while ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) in our roles as Client and, where applicable, Principal Designer.
What will you do?
- Providing guidance to project delivery teams on design and construction matters throughout the CDM project delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure CDM compliance at key project stages using governance and assurance frameworks.
- Support the development and maintenance of clear, efficient processes for discharging Client and Principal Designer duties across all projects.
- Deliver engaging CDM training to build capability across delivery teams.
- Support the development of and embed consistent approaches for identifying and managing safety risks across both construction and operational phases.
- Support project delivery teams in producing CDM-compliant deliverables through guidance, templates, training, and best practice sharing.
- Conduct regular audits across projects and report findings to senior construction leadership.
- Stay up to date with changes in CDM and related regulations, ensuring organisational readiness.
- Support the Lead CDM Manager, Lead Design Manager & Lead Construction Manager to ensure safety is fully integrated into the design process.

- Qualification in construction health & safety, including CDM and/or safety in design.
- Ability to communicate complex legal requirements clearly to non-specialists.
- Experience delivering training that drives understanding and application.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
