This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

What is the role?

  • Lead the Social Impact team to successfully deliver London Gatwick's economic partnerships, community investment programmes, future Employment Skills and Business Strategy.
  • Ensure all activity is fully aligned with legal requirements and is supported and integrated across the business.
  • Ensure all noise management and noise engagement is successfully integrated with operational team requirements and is fully aligned and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

What will you do?

  • Day to day management of the Social Impact team with wider business engagement at all levels to ensure support for development and delivery of activities, including leading budget planning and management across the team.
  • Develop and deliver an integrated Social Impact plan helping to create a pipeline of talent for the future and fully aligns with any legal/statutory requirements.
  • Proactive engagement with relevant stakeholders, working closely with Public Affairs and wider corporate affairs team to prioritise and allocate responsibilities and avoid duplication.
  • Input into project specific community consultation and research projects as required and contribute to a positive relationship with local community representatives through GAL noise engagement platforms.
  • Share London Gatwick's vision and priorities with external stakeholders, including representing the company on external fora and public speaking.
  • Ensure Social Impact team works closely with communications team to share information and identify profiling/storytelling opportunities.
  • Drive accurate measurement and reporting of impact and benchmarking, including key performance indicators for Decade of Change goals 1, 4 and 5.

Do you have what we’re looking for?

  • Significant experience in social impact and associated work, used to working in a complex organisation.
  • Significant experience of managing and developing teams, including in challenging environments and through periods of change.
  • Experience in successful partnership working, planning and delivering public consultation.
  • Experience in engaging and communicating with diverse range of external stakeholders at all levels, including influencing skills and resilience in the face of challenge.
  • Experience in representing the business externally at meetings and events.
  • Experience in delivering presentations, tailoring these to the relevant audiences.
  • Delivery and project management experience, ensuring strong collaboration and co-ordination of plans across the team.
  • Knowledge of the demographics and characteristics of the local area (Sussex, Surrey, Kent) and the key challenges in relation to Gatwick's role in the region would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of social impact/sustainability reporting and good/best practice.
