The Airfield Controllers are responsible for delivering the safety and compliance of the Aerodrome by completing daily operational tasks in line with the necessary SOPs. As an Airfield Controller you will provide the necessary guidance and communication to all stakeholders, both internal and 3rd party, to ensure a safe and efficient Airfield operation.

What will you do?

  • Owning the delivery of a robust inspection schedule, across all areas of the aerodrome, completing the necessary reports and follow up actions to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Completing inspections and subsequent reports for all EHS issues.
  • Leading by example to demonstrate EHS as a priority.
  • Delivering key tasks to ensure the airfield complies with the regulatory framework, recording and reporting non-compliance where appropriate.
  • On shift supervision of 3rd party contractors, minimising disruption.
  • Undertaking risk assessments and, where appropriate, reporting concerns to support an improved operation.
  • Providing a rapid and effective response to any incidents, supporting emergency services as required.
  • Responsible for wildlife hazard management and reporting.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Understanding of airfield and aircraft ground and flight operations, and in particular licensing and safeguarding activities.
  • Exposure to Crisis management events.
  • Experience in incident response, investigation and documenting.
  • Experience of leading external parties, to achieve a common goal.
  • Working in restricted / controlled environments.
  • Resilient, organised and a great communicator.
  • Ability to hold a firearms licence and an Airside driving permit (Full UK Driving licence essential).
  • Knowledge of CAP 1168 “Guidance Material for organisations, Operations and Design Requirements for Aerodromes” EASA CS-ADR-DS.
