The Product Support Team is a growing and vital part of the Production Engineering Team.

The team delivers integrated engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, providing high-value technical support to Engineering, Operations, Quality, Project Delivery, and Customer Support functions across both post-design activities and new product development.

About the Role

The Lead Product Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and advanced engineering support for assembled products throughout the production lifecycle.

The role ensures smooth assembly operations, rapid resolution of product and process issues, and continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.

This position acts as a key link between Design, Production, Quality, and Suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities and priorities of the Product Support Engineering Team in line with business requirements.
  • Train and develop a team of Product Support Engineers, providing guidance on complex technical issues.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for assembly-related product issues.
  • Provide expert technical support for assembly operations, including troubleshooting complex product issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Design, Supply Chain, Quality, and Suppliers.
  • Support supplier technical discussions related to parts, sub-assemblies, and manufacturability.
  • Represent the department at review meetings.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to meet output and efficiency targets.
  • Work with key stakeholders to drive efficiency and productivity improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Undertake special projects as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent is desirable. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

  • Knowledge & Experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Assembly or Manufacturing Engineering, with leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated track record supporting complex manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient in CAD and standard software packages, including Microsoft Office and Solid Works/Creo.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage across multiple levels.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to evolving situations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
