We’re looking for an experienced Wind Turbine Technician to join a high-performing onshore operations team, playing a key role in maintaining turbine performance and maximising energy production. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising wind turbine systems, working both independently and as part of a small, agile team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll be at the forefront of turbine operations, carrying out a wide range of activities including scheduled servicing, fault finding, maintenance, and major component exchanges.
- This will involve both preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure turbines operate at peak performance.
- Using SCADA and other advanced diagnostic systems, you’ll analyse turbine performance, reset faults, and build fault histories to support continuous improvement.
- You’ll also maintain accurate maintenance records and play an active role in improving site performance, safety, and reliability.
- Beyond day-to-day maintenance, you’ll contribute to wider site operations—supporting projects, managing spare parts, and getting involved in non-routine activities when required.
- Flexibility is key in this role. You’ll be expected to adapt to changing weather conditions and workloads, participate in an on-call rota, and occasionally travel to other sites.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re keen to speak with technicians who have a strong technical background and proven experience working on wind turbines—specifically Senvion platforms (essential).
- You should hold a qualification in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline (HNC, ONC, or NVQ) and be confident working with advanced tools and systems, including hydraulics, power electronics, and electrical diagnostic equipment.
- A strong understanding of HSSE practices is critical, along with demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, while also contributing effectively within a small team environment.
Key Requirements
- Proven wind turbine maintenance experience
- Senvion turbine platform experience (essential)
- Full, in-date GWO certification (including Enhanced First Aid & Advanced Rescue)
- Strong technical and fault-finding capability
- Competence as a slinger/signaller (banksman)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic operational team where you’ll have real ownership of turbine performance and a direct impact on energy output. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
