Are you an Electrical Systems Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge autonomous technology that is shaping the future of defence and maritime operations?
We're seeking a talented engineer to join an innovative team developing advanced Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) and next-generation autonomous maritime platforms. This is a rare opportunity to be involved throughout the full lifecycle of revolutionary products, from concept and design through to integration, testing, sea trials, and deployment.
Working within the rapidly growing Defence, Maritime and Autonomous Systems sector, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to create robust, reliable electrical systems capable of operating in challenging marine environments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing electrical architectures for advanced autonomous maritime platforms.
- Creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and power distribution systems.
- Selecting and integrating electrical components including power supplies, sensors, relays, converters, and protection devices.
- Collaborating closely with software, systems, mechanical, production, and commissioning teams.
- Supporting electrical integration, troubleshooting, verification, harbour acceptance testing, and sea trials.
- Producing high-quality technical documentation and compliance records.
What We're Looking For
- Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience designing and integrating electrical systems within engineering environments.
- Knowledge of low-voltage DC systems, power distribution, grounding strategies, and DC-DC converters.
- Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and Bills of Materials.
- Familiarity with ECAD tools such as SolidWorks Electrical, DraftSight, or similar.
- Strong hands-on testing and fault-finding skills using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and CAN analysers.
- Uncrewed or remotely operated platform development.
- Battery management systems and power electronics.
- EMC/EMI compliance and RF integration considerations.
- AS9100 quality environments.
