Matchtech is supporting our client, an International Offshore wind Developer in securing an Electrical Design Engineer to support offshore wind farm projects within their portfolio. This is a contract consulting role, offering the chance to work on technically complex grid integration and power system studies across multiple project phases.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering high quality power system studies and grid compliance support, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders and OEMs.
- Developing, integrating, and validating RMS and EMT models (WTG, PPC, HVAC/HVDC, FACTS).
- Executing PSS/E studies: load flow, short circuit, RMS dynamics, contingencies & sensitivity analysis.
- Executing PSCAD EMT studies: faults, control interactions, protection behaviour, energisation, harmonics & transients.
- Managing vendor/OEM models (validation, parameterisation, version control).
- Producing audit-ready technical documentation, study reports, and grid code evidence.
- Summarising findings and recommending mitigation measures in line with QA standards.
What the client will be looking for:
- Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ hands-on PSCAD experience (EMT studies).
- Strong, proven experience using PSS/E for grid compliance and design studies.
- Experience working with confidential vendor models and black‑box components.
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, MATLAB) for studies and post‑processing.
- Ability to work independently while aligning with established methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
