The Kingsway School is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support and Intervention Assistant (LSIA) to join our Inclusion and Diversity (SEND) Department. This role involves developing students' social skills through interventions such as Lego therapy, talk for teenagers, and other social interventions. You will support high-quality teaching and learning for students aged 11-16 with a range of additional needs, working across mainstream lessons and targeted interventions.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering small-group and individual interventions to support students' social and communication skills.
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND.
- Contributing to the assessment, review, and progress monitoring of students.
- Collating and sharing data with the SEND team, teachers, and families.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continual refinement of support strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience or a strong interest in developing social skills for pupils with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive practice and a patient, proactive approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good proficiency in spoken English.
